MMFD screening of the movie "Hamasat", followed by a political discussion

  • Heist Bank 5 North Wharf Road London, England, W2 1LA United Kingdom (map)

From MMFD:

The UK chapter of Citizens in a State would like to invite you to a screening of the movie Hamasat, by Maroun Baghdadi.

Hamasat follows the Lebanese poet Nadia Tueni (1935-1983) on a journey across different regions of war-torn Lebanon. The film depicts the fall of a country struggling to survive and find hope. At every station, between sites filled with poetry and nostalgia for a bygone era, the poet’s dashed dreams and idealized vision of her country coincide with the director’s own.

The screening will be followed by a political discussion regarding the situation in Lebanon, moderated by Youssef Salha.

Location: The Games Room at Heist Bank

Wed, September 8, 2021; 7:00 PM – 10:00 PM BST

Invitation is open to all, but RSVP is needed as space is limited.
